Dried Red Chilli
Nigeria is a major producer of chilies. It is harvested in commercial quantity between the months of October through February of the following year. Although Birds Eye Chili is produced in almost every State in Nigeria, it is produced in commercial quantities in Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Jigawa, Sokoto and Zamfara States. Birds Eye Chilies of Nigerian origin has very high heat content in excess of 70,000 BTU. It is acceptable in the USA and European markets. African Agronomics Ltd ships about 120 mts of hot chili every year. A 20′ container of chili contains about 8.5 mts while a high cube 40′ FCL contains about 18mts of Birds Eye chili.
